Greensand, also known as
Glauconite, is a mineral mined from natural deposits of glauconite
located in the Southern part of New Jersey. These deposits are of marine
origin and are composed primarily of iron-potassium silicate, which gives
it its bluish green color.
Benefits of Greensand include:
Light Application 5 to 10 lbs. (or up
to 1 cup for every 5 sq. ft.) per 100 square feet.
Medium Application 15 to 30 lbs. (or up to 1
cup for every 2 sq. ft.) per 100 square feet.
Heavy Application 40 to 80 lbs. (or up to 1
1/4 cups for every 1 sq. ft.) per 100 square feet.
Per plant use 1/3 cup.
Broadcast or spread Espoma Greensand evenly over the entire area. It is
recommended that the greensand be incorporated into the soil before
seeding or planting. For application during the growing season use the
light rates shown above.
