The MLC-4 & 4a are rated for 30 amps @ 240v. these controllers are best devices for controlling up to 4 HID lights from one timer. You run 240v power into the mlc-4, and all of the outlets are controlled by 1 120v trigger cable. you can plug the trigger cable into standard 120v timer. the difference in the MLC-4 and MLC-4a models are the 120 outlets and 240 outlets.

The 8 port is rated at 40 amps @240v. MLC-8 & 8a.
