Simply Hydroponics
stocks two types of non-electronic pH testers. The Hydrion Paper Test Strips have a
range of 4-9 and come in a vial of 100. Simply dip the paper into the solution to be
checked and compare the color of the strip to the color chart. Color chart is included.
The General Hydroponics Liquid pH Indicator is probably the best way to check the
pH of your reservoir. Often referred to as a "drop" tester because you use only
3 drops of the liquid indicator solution per test. This tester has a range of 4.0 - 8.5
and includes a plastic testing vial, 1 fl. oz. of indicator solution (enough for hundreds
of tests) and a color chart. Simply fill the testing vial half full of the solution to be
tested and add 3 drops of indicator solution, mix and compare the color to the chart to
find the pH level. Most gardeners have this drop tester in their gardens, even if they
have expensive electronic pH test equipment, the drop tester is kept for a back-up in case
the electronic tester has problems.
